Our new VW T6.1 was ready for the February NCC CMM Show...

With launch of the new Transporter T6.1 pefectly coinciding with Caravan, Camping & Motorhome show; we had our work cut out. Our time line of delivery , full conversion and getting show ready was tight as always!

We had been eagerly awaiting the arrival of out first T6.1, it was a great spec and it was one of the new colours - SWB 150ps DSG in Copper Bronze. The jury had been out on the colour but its fantastic and just right to do something a bit different with and make it a real one off.

For the exterior transformation we started with a Bilstein coil over suspension kit to lower and added so satin black Remo wheels and Michellin tyres which immediately changed the apperance of the van. The windows  were cut in and glazed with factory VW glass with a dark tint, the black and copper works really well and the  exterior has been finished off with atin black Dirty Weekender graphics.

First off the new Reimo electric roof went in, this was the first one we have fitted and we have been so impressed with it.

Inside we wanted to do somthing that we hadnt done before - something that brought the van to life and made it extra special. We had recently been introduced to a technique of applying metal powder with different bonders to create a metallic finish that could polished in any way you wanted, distress or painted. It was perfect to go with this van.

Inside, once the Dynamat, lining and insulation had gone in the bespoke carcass for the furniture was built - now every piece had to have the metal process applied. This truly bespoke finish was so worth it and sets of the exterior colour of the van nicely. Finished with leather handles and a wooden worktop we had created such a home from home feeling.

The rear is fitted with a RIB seat bed at 120cm wide. Along with the driver and single passenger seat we re-trimmed it all in a saddle brown leather with tweed centres, back and headrests.

This conversion is truly different and special, creating an interior space to live in that feels luxurious but cosy and practical was the aim, we set the challenge and we delivered - We hope you agree!
